Looking For A New Role?

With the lockdown at the start of 2021, many people have found it tough. Working remotely has been a challenge for many people. While some people have thrived in these circumstances, many others have found themselves questioning whether it is time for a change.

At Global Solution Services, we know these are difficult times. If you are looking for a change in career, we appreciate this might be a difficult time to do so, but we also understand many people are keener than ever to make these changes.

Many people are looking for a new job in 2021

A recent study carried out by Totaljobs indicates 89% of respondents were thinking about changing their job in 2021. 77% of respondents have admitted they have already started the search process for the new role.

When you consider the survey spoke to more than 5,000 employees in the UK, this is a sizable study. While it is likely there will be people who say they are looking for a new role and who will do nothing about, it stands to reason that many people will look to make changes in their employment status.

The study found that job insecurity relating to the pandemic was one of the leading issues that is driving people to look for a new role. 66% of respondents said they were worried about their career security.

This is a challenging time for businesses, and many people run the risk of being made redundant or facing a major change in their job. With this in mind, you cannot blame people for evaluating their current role, and what they could do in the future.

We are here to assist you if you are looking to make a change, or just learn how you can better position yourself to find a new role.

A lot of respondents believe they will become unemployed in 2021

26% of respondents said they think it is likely they will become unemployed at some point in 2021. When you think that more than a quarter of respondents believe they will lose their job, you must take on board how challenging these times are.

18% of respondents say they are looking for a position in a more secure industry, and 45% of respondents say they don’t think they will get a new position in the sector they current operate in.

This means many people will need to look at retraining or developing other skills.

It needs to be said the pandemic has likely affected what employers can offer to their employees. According to respondents, just 10% received training directly from their employer in 2020.
