NCFE accredited course at Canons House, Mitcham (CR4) this May

Digital skills sit behind everyday life now.

You use them to apply for jobs, book appointments, manage bills and stay in touch with employers and services. When you feel unsure online, simple tasks take longer. You can lose confidence fast. You can also miss opportunities.

That is why Global Solution Services (GSS) is running a new NCFE accredited Essential Digital Skills course this May at Canons House, Mitcham (CR4). This course is aimed mainly at adults living in Merton who want to build real confidence with digital tools.

Who this course is for

This course is for anyone aged 18+ who wants to feel more confident using digital tools in daily life and work.

You might be returning to work after time away. You might be changing roles. You might be supporting your children and need to manage school systems and forms. Or you might simply want to stop feeling stressed every time something needs to be done online.

You do not need a tech background. You do not need to be “good with computers”. You just need to be open to learning and practising.

What the course involves

The course runs over 3 days and includes a practical exam. It focuses on the digital skills you actually use in real situations, not theory.

It is delivered at Canons House in Mitcham (CR4). You will need access to a smartphone, tablet or laptop to take part.

What you will learn

Over the three days, you will build confidence in the areas that most people struggle with.

You will learn how to use a device properly, so you feel in control rather than guessing. That includes common settings, how to connect and stay updated and how to use a browser and apps without getting lost.

You will also learn how to manage information. Many people can “find something online”, but then cannot save it, locate it later, or upload it when asked. We will cover how to organise files, handle documents and manage information in a way that makes life easier.

Communication is another key part. Employers expect clear emails, correct attachments and quick responses. The course will help you improve how you communicate digitally so you can respond professionally and with confidence.

Online safety matters too. Scams, risky links and weak passwords cause real problems. You will learn simple steps to protect your accounts and your personal information. You will also learn how to spot common warning signs before you click.

Most importantly, the course supports employability. Digital skills now affect the whole job search. You need to search for roles, complete applications, upload documents and sometimes use online portals and systems. This course helps you handle those tasks without stress.

Why this matters for work in 2026

Even when a job is not “office based”, employers still use digital tools.

Many roles now involve online rotas, digital training modules, email communication, online forms and basic systems for reporting and compliance. When you improve your digital confidence, you reduce mistakes, move faster and feel more prepared for modern recruitment.

How the NCFE accreditation helps

A recognised qualification gives you proof.

It shows that you can demonstrate digital skills in practical scenarios, not just say you can. That can strengthen your CV, improve your confidence in interviews and help employers feel confident choosing you.
