If you make better use of the time you have available to you, you’ll find you can achieve more, allowing you to improve your results, or even make the most of your free time.

There are many different ways you can make positive changes to your time management. For some firms, the solution comes with better equipment and labour or time-saving devices. For other companies, the answer comes by empowering employees and helping them to make the right decisions.

Time management is often about confidence and knowledge, and these are areas where training makes a massive difference. If you are worried about relying on software technology, which can break down or require considerable preparation, it is best to focus on time management skills and training employees to deliver the best results.

Delegation is essential with time management

A problem that many employees have with managing their time is they end up doing work they shouldn’t be doing. If you are in a position where you can delegate work, and there is work to be commissioned, you need to do so.

If you find that your day runs away from you, or new jobs crop up that derail your plans, it is time to be stricter in the workplace. Creating a workplace schedule, that allocates tasks to certain hours or time of day will provide you with a more transparent structure for work.

Give yourself deadlines

It is true to say many people work more effectively when they have a deadline in place. If this motivates you, create deadlines for your tasks.

Statement from GSS Directors – Centre closures from 30th March 2020

Following the recent announcements made by UK Government, we would like to keep you updated on the changes GSS has made and the measures we have put in place to protect the well-being and safety of all our learners, customers and staff.

As of 30th March 2020 all GSS delivery sites will be closed. However, we are still fully operational and will be running Careers Advice and Guidance alongside Training via skype calls, video conferencing and on-line services to ensure all our customers, learners and trainees can still access our service.

These are indeed exceptional circumstances and we are working tirelessly behind the scenes to respond to the latest policy changes in some of our working procedures, and continue to prepare online material and resources to ensure minimum disruption to our service
